Here's a little bit about the evening:
This was a beautiful evening where the Texas arts community bonded together to remember the short life of a child. It was an evening where people reached into their pockets in these hard economic times and found a few dollars to donate to a hospital they know believes in the health and well-being of children. It was an evening when the Bibeaus gathered their strength and attended an event that both celebrated life and acknowledged their pain. It was an evening of laughter, tears, and above all, hope.
Over 150 people attended Vagabond Cirque this year to see fifty people perform various art forms on three stages that ran entertainment consecutively from 6:00 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.. The evening ended with a drum jam where everyone was invited to play an instrument, dance, or just zaghareet and applaud. Food was included in the price of the ticket.
The Bibeaus were in attendance to witness the event. They expressed their deepest appreciation for those who donated their time and artistic talent to Vagabond Cirque in memory of their little girl, Caitlyn. The Bibeaus were incredibly moved to see the outpouring of support from the arts community in Texas. Still, even though the event put them as the guests of honor, the Bibeaus insisted on purchasing tickets.
Many people approached the organizers of the event to express how much they enjoyed the event and how wonderful it was to be able to perform for such an important cause or to attend the event and donate funds.
Though the final count is not in, the estimated funds raised on this evening are between $2000 and $3000.
Every performer, stage manager, door person, and greeter worked for free. Their payment came in their ability to network with their peers, please the audiences with their performances, and most of all, see the gratitude on the faces of Bonnie and Brian Bibeau.
Mariana, owner of Avant Garden, donated the space for free on a Saturday night for this event.
Nari, Anne, and Patsi were humbled and privileged to bring this event to the public and show affection and support for the Bibeaus and their chosen charity, Texas Children's Hospital.

ABOUT CAITLYN BIBEAU:
Caitlyn developed a sacrococcygeal teratoma in her fourth month of development. Her parents, Bonnie and Brian Bibeau, were given the option to terminate Bonnie's pregnancy, as the possibility of Caitlyn's survival was somewhat slim.
But Bonnie and Brian are fighters, and chose to take the chance that Caitlyn might survive. At 37 weeks, the tumor had grown to almost twelve inches and Bonnie was forced to deliver via C-section on March 20, 2009. Caitlyn lived for eleven hours before her little body gave out.
Bonnie and Brian have slowly begun their recovery, supported by many friends and family members.
Bonnie and Brian are honored to have this event held in memeory of their beloved Caitlyn, and have chosen Texas Children's Hospital as the beneficiary.
